Software Engineer

Mlb Advanced Media, L.P

As a software engineer at MLB Advanced Media, my main responsibility is creating, maintaining and improving the Test Automation Framework to monitor and run regression tests on its web pages and products. The framework was built using WATIR and other Ruby libraries. It runs tests on Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari on Windows and OS X. The tests simulate user interactions with web pages, and upon completion, send status email for each test when necessary, log the different steps of the tests in a log file, as well as persisting the results. For monitoring, the tests run on a scheduler and the data are used to create daily reports via emails. The tests are integrated into the testing process of many different groups including CMS, Fantasy Baseball, Media Framework, Mobile and QA. The Web UI for the framework was created using Ruby on Rails. It can be used to write and schedule tests as well as view the test results, without the need to install, configure and maintain the software required on individual machines. It is also accessible through mobile devices with browsing capability. I am also responsible for writing and maintaining the documentation for installing and using the framework as well as assigning and managing the tasks to an off-site QA engineer.
