Built and manages the engineering teams that power the CarrierX CPaaS platform. Responsible for technical and product direction for the platform as a whole. CarrierX provides telecom services such as DID provisioning, SIP trunking, Programmable Voice and SMS/MMS delivered as fully managed solutions, through our self-serve portal, or controlled by REST APIs. We also run a nation-wide carrier network and provide API-enabled CLEC and IPES hosting.

Designed and implemented a portal where users could sign up, select a phone number, and configure a SIP trunk.Django REST Framework was used to create a RESTful backend. Behind the scenes, it managed orchestration against multiple vendor APIs and customers in-house switch to provide services such as CNAM registration, E911, etc.Portal frontend was implemented in React and jQuery.

Created and scaled a subscription-based source code hosting and managed hosting provider. Personally handled everything from racking servers, writing code and marketing until eventually growing company to a team of 4 engineers and admins. Extensive experience using the following technologies: Linux, Perl, OpenLDAP, MySQL, SVN, Git, Puppet, Salt, Xymon, ZabbixSuccessfully migrated from physical data-centers to a multi-region AWS deployment with fail-over and cross-site replication.

Created data pipelines and tooling for CDR processing, reporting and analytics using Perl. Worked with engineering and traffic engineering stakeholders to gather requirements for internal tooling and management needs.Designed and fully implemented software to use commodity Linux servers to capture, store, parse and index SIP and RTP packet captures at line speed using C. Created a web front-end to manage search, extraction and download of these capture files. Saved the company over $250K a year compared to commercial solutions which used custom hardware probes to do similar, while also providing more advanced search capabilities and flexible retention options.
