I have spent most of my career in some form of service to others. After a 25 year military career at a relatively senior level I joined the Community Foundation of Southeastern Alberta as their Executive Director. In that time the Foundation grew its assets 20 fold and introduced numerous granting and community leadership programs. The Foundation has provided millions of dollars to local charities and helped countless numbers of lives in the process.In 2016 I accepted the position as Director of Advancement to lead a dedicated team involved in fundraising and alumni engagement at Lakeland College. I oversaw the creation and implementation of a multi-million dollar comprehensive campaign and helped to establish philanthropy as a key component of the culture of the college at the leadership level. Now, during my early retirement years, I am using my communication skills for a different type of service. I provide my customers with an excellent shopping experience as they make their choices from the personally curated selection of wines, spirits and beers at the store. I am enjoying working with great partners and using my previous experience and leadership sills to achieve the best results possible.
