Whether it’s helping set up new accounts, handling service-related inquiries, or managing returns and refunds, the associate plays a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction.• Self-Checkout representative o Assisting Customers: Provide friendly and efficient customer service by assisting shoppers with self-checkout machines. Help them navigate the process, troubleshoot any issues, and ensure a smooth checkout experience. o Monitoring Transactions: Keep an eye on self-checkout stations to prevent theft or misuse. Verify that items are scanned correctly and intervene if any discrepancies arise. o Handling Cash and Payments: Assist customers with cash payments, credit cards, and other forms of payment. Ensure accurate change and address any payment-related questions. o Maintaining Cleanliness: Regularly clean and sanitize self-checkout stations, including touchscreens, scanners, and bagging areas. Keep the area tidy and organized. o Troubleshooting Technical Issues: Be prepared to troubleshoot minor technical glitches with the self-checkout machines. If necessary, escalate more complex issues to the appropriate department. o Promoting Self-Checkout: Encourage customers to use self-checkout as an efficient option. Explain its benefits and guide them through the process.• Cashier representative o Providing fast, friendly, and accurate checkout services for customers using computerized cash register systems. o Handling and counting money during transactions. o Bagging customers’ orders. o Assisting shoppers in locating items within the store.

• Deliver a great customer experience while taking Customers orders off the ShopRite website, selecting their order and communicating any issues with the Customers; to bag the orders, pack it in totes, store accordingly, bill the order, transport to the Customer’s car and take payment.• Accurately identify products from various departments.• Be knowledgeable in picking top quality perishable items.• Be able to substitute comparable items when a customer’s item is out of stock. This requires excellent communication skills via phone & in person.• Accurately select and organize Customer’s items efficiently.• Properly bag Customer’s orders safely and efficiently.• Prepare workspace for selection process.• Merge the completed totes to ensure they are ready for Customer collection or delivery.• Prioritize temperature-controlled totes in the correct location (i.e., cooler).• Process all forms of payments (i.e., cash, credit, checks, EBT, WIC, rain checks, coupons, vouchers, gift cards, etc.).• Accurately collect proper payment and provide proper change.• Ability to make change with all denominations of American currency.• Understand operation of cash register and follow all cash handling procedures, if applicable.• Prepare paperwork to complete a customer’s transaction and file accurately.• Prepare workspace for selection process.
