About Michael Claude
I joined DETCOG in April 2018 as the Director of Criminal Justice and a Regional Strategic Planner for Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness. Prior to this I spent 5 years with Nacogdoches ISD as the Law Enforcement / Public Safety Instructor after spending 26 years in Law Enforcement. In 2016 I worked with State Rep. Travis Clardy, who sponsored HB 1545 which was signed into law and allows TCOLE to recognize the training that students obtain in high school toward their Peace Officers License when the attend a Police Academy. I became a Peace Officer in 1985 and currently hold my commission with Waller Co Sheriff's Office. DETCOG is an entirely new scope of work for me and I am looking forward to the challenge.
