I have more than 30 years of archaeological experience in the Mid-Atlantic region. I have worked in the field on numerous projects ranging from archaeology of small parcels, pipelines, transportation corridors, to large tracts of land. I have worked on preservation projects related to public owned properties. Projects have included historic and pre-contact sites, including domestic, industrial, military and urban sites. I have also supervised large projects as a field director, principal investigator, and as a project manager. I have written and contributed to hundreds of technical reports and worked with multi-disciplinary teams. While serving as Loudoun County's primary cultural resource manager I was involved in numerous preservation and interpretation projects. I also worked closely with the local museums and educational institutions to promote and protect the local heritage. As the Easement Stewardship Coordinator for the DHR I was responsible for overseeing the proper care for properties listed on the National and State Registers. Now as the Regional Archaeologist for the eastern part of Virginia I am called upon to examine newly discovered sites, to identify artifacts discovered by citizens, to conduct field schools, and to help educate the public about the preservation of our archaeological resources and their importance.
