Hello, I am a Physical Scientist and Technical Project Officer at the US EPA's Region 4 Air & Radiation Division office. My role in this position primarily consists of grant management related to federal clean transportation initiatives. My team conducts frequent outreach all around the Southeast to help spread word of federal assistance opportunities for potential applicants. Previous to my current position in the EPA, I was a GIS Analyst for the Cobb County, GA Parks and Recreation Department. In that position, I grew my knowledge of geospatial analysis and put it into practice to cater to the County’s unique needs. Of note, I was heavily involved with the Parks Department’s asset management database as well as the Emergency Locator Marker (ELM) program. I am a recent graduate with a Master's Degree in Geology from Georgia State University. I spent my time in graduate school strengthening my academic knowledge and technical skills related to the principles of geosciences including: environmental geology, GIS, structural geology, minerology, soil sciences and sedimentology, paleontology. Additionally, my Master’s Capstone project involved an internship with Gulf Islands National Seashore (GUIS) in FL/MS. I assisted GUIS to survey, collect and catalogue fossil shark teeth, update their paleontological inventory, and research new paleontological localities within park boundaries. The fossils I recovered and described were the first paleontological resources ever collected and curated by GUIS. One deliverable of this project was a detailed spreadsheet cataloguing all fossil specimens recovered. Another deliverable was a ~200-page paleontological resources technical inventory report for both the park and visitors, highlighting the importance of regulation and preservation of fossil resources at GUIS.My skillsets lie in: project management, record-keeping, formal research and technical writing, interpersonal communication and teamwork, knowledge of the function and utilization of GIS applications (ArcGIS, QGIS, etc.) and field data collection experience.
