As a Resident Engineer I am responsible for overseeing construction of roadway and bridge projects in the Chicago area for multiple clients. Over the past 15 years, I have gained extensive experience through working on a variety of transportation construction projects, ranging from rural roads to major arterials and expressways in urban areas. My project delivery method includes a hands-on approach in working closely with contractors and engineers to identify problems early, while keeping project stakeholders aware of issues that arise during construction. This approach keeps projects on schedule and minimizes impacts to the public.Construction experience includes oversight of the following aspects of road and bridge construction: demolition, storm sewer and culvert installation, subgrade and embankment inspection, oversight of QC/QA for materials testing, grading, piling, PCC and HMA paving, bridge deck pours, concrete structures, resurfacing, retaining walls (MSE and cast in place), steel erection, erosion control, traffic control and staging, traffic signals and interconnects, street lighting, pavement markings, ADA compliant sidewalk, landscaping, interchanges, expressways, and intersections.Other administration skills include: constructability reviews, utility coordination, schedule review/monitoring, cost analysis, public relations, check survey/layout, review of submittals, processing change orders and pay estimates, project documentation and close-out, and project management.
