I’m a trial lawyer who has successfully handled multibillion dollar cases on both sides of the “v.” I hold the largest jury verdict in Minnesota history with a $564 million verdict and a $1.1 billion total award. I've been lead trial counsel on all types of cases and I’ve sued some of the largest companies in the world for individuals, receivers, trustees and institutions. I understand business and frequently work with clients to develop creative business solutions. I’ve served on the Dean’s Advisory Board at the Mitchell Hamline School of Law. I’ve also mentored law students at the St. Thomas Law School for many years and I've been a guest professor there as well. My wife and I have four kids who are very loud, creative, and funny and keep me active. I play electric guitar, big mountain ski, wake surf and water ski, golf, ride fat tire and mountain bikes, and still try to play hockey with friends and former college teammates.
