Oversee all aspects of EIP’s Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs, including but not limited to compliance with regulations USEPA, OSHA, and state and local agencies. Ensure our California, Ohio, Massachusetts & Rhode Island locations maintain all required permits, training records, and logs and administer plant wastewater treatment operations as required. Ensure that all sites in the business unit are adhering to their applicable local and federal requirements.

Responsible for oversight of workforce compliance with the established project safety program, plans, procedures, and applicable regulations. Maintain current safety and health information for the site. Including notifications, revisions to safety plans and workers training certifications. Plan, organize, coordinate, and conduct onsite worker safety and health training and site safety induction. Conduct safety inspections, and audits and ensure work activities are conducted correctly. Maintain safety deficiency and corrective action logs and perform trend analysis. Ensure that all signs, equipment, machinery, and hazards are marked or painted to identify the hazard. Perform PPE checks to ensure adequate use and supply of equipment. Review all mishaps and close calls. Oversaw and investigated the processing of new workers compensation claims. Ensure site follows all regulatory agencies including SCAQMD, LA County Sanitation District, EPA, OSHA, and the California State Waterboard.

Responsibilities include developing and implementing Environmental, Health and Safety programs. Assist management in developing and reporting of EHS performance metrics to facilitate continuous and ongoing improvement of EHS efforts. Establish strategies and programs to proactively identify EHS hazards and risks and develop plans to eliminate or control those hazards and risks. Conduct EHS audits and audit policies and procedures to ensure plant follows regulatory requirements and evaluate the effectiveness of the EHS program. Work with plant leadership to develop and deploy standard safe work practices and procedures. Assist with gap assessment and corrective action plan development. Develop and deploy EHS awareness and compliance training programs as appropriate to all levels of operations and management. Assist in implementing a consistent HSE reporting and metrics system and analyze incident and injury/illness data for targeted HSE activities to drive a zero-incident culture.Ensure compliance to permit, consistent reporting, cost analysis scheduling and manifesting of hazardous waste shipments. Plan and coordinate all aspects of the construction process, including hiring contractors and working with engineers, architects, and vendors. Ensure company continually remains compliant and informed of industry regulatory changes when it comes to bodies such as AQMD, LA County Sanitation District and OSHA.

Responsibilities include interfacing with clients to provide technical project management and customer service, including project scheduling, tracking, and consulting to determine appropriate sampling and analytical protocols. Coordinates with the laboratory and administration to ensure that analysis are properly executed and meets the client’s needs.

Responsible for the implementation of the Environmental Health and Safety Program of ALS North America of this facility. Duties include accident investigation and incident review, maintenance of all safety-related equipment and documents, and performing safety audits and reporting results to management.

Team lead responsibilities include but are not limited to training and mentoring of junior analysts, standard operating procedure review, and streamlining methods.

Analysis of vapor phase and liquid samples for various volatile compounds, perform maintenance on instruments when required, real time data reduction, participation in peer review process, maintain working knowledge of all GC methods performed in department, and good practice of all QA/QC requirements.
