About Michael Copes
My artwork comes from a hope that I can bring enjoyment to people that need a brief escape. Video games and animation give us a chance to explore outside of the natural laws of the real. As I child, I was a bit reclusive, so I spent a majority of time playing video games, which let me explore worlds that I could never have fathomed. When I graduated high school, I had no idea what I wanted to do with my future, so I joined the National Guard with my step brother. I accepted a job as a military police officer, where I spent over eight years. After a tour in Iraq, I began think of the future and decided to go to college. I began exploring my more artistic side and decided I wanted further that, so that I could hopefully make something that someone would enjoy. I’ve created a lot of characters in the past with amazing stories and I am furthering my skills to be able to convey them in visual form.
