Improve operating performance through performance indicators. Ensure management succession by training, developing, motivating and effectively utilizing employees. Review and approve business cases for staff hiring and capital expenditures. Implement processes and programs that impact the annual business goals.

Provide direction and leadership to the Maintenance/Nuclear Services organization. Accountable for the overall management and safe operation of a multi-trade organization with over 250 employees with a budget of 6.5 million.. Ensure the operations of Maintenance Services are duly diligent, safe and compliant.Responsible for developing strategic plans with customer base.Support and articulate a message of change and create and environment that inspires people.Manages and is accountable for extensive communications with both internal and external clients/Contractors.Liaison with TSSA authorized inspector concerning adherence of QA Programs and Site Maintenance.Ad hoc member of the AECL Safety Review Committee.Ad hoc member of the Site Safety and Health Committee.Ad hoc member of the AECL Environmental Panel.De facto member of the Nuclear Operations Management Committee.Oversees the recruitment, training, evaluation and development of unionized staff comprised of trades and related as well as Managers, Supervisors and Administration Assistants.Involved with investigations and disciplinary actions were appropriate.Involved in arbitrations and participates in negotiations when appropriate.

Ensures that the operations of Site Support Services are duly diligent, safe and compliant. Develop and implement a safety culture which will improve/eliminate safety incidents. Develop and justify long range and fiscal business plans. Participate in formulating strategies and goals. Establish operational goals, targets, planning, implementation, meeting commitments and reporting of status. Ensure implementation of Event Free Tools for 110 personnel. Resource Management to deliver demand budgeted by customer groups without idle capacity. Supply all tools and job aids required for efficient operation of Site Support Services.
