I studied physics and worked in microwave communications before joining the Civil Service where I did a variety of jobs including preparing reports for Social Security Appeals Tribunals and for the Parliamentary Commissioner for Administration (the Ombudsman).I have a degree in social and political science and certificates in theology and adult education. Just for fun I trained as a barista to get a City and Guilds certificate in coffee making. As part of shared learning group sponsored by U3A I take on research projects for the Plymouth City Museum.With my wife I research local history. We give talks at the Museum and to other groups. We are currently research Plymputh during the Great War of 1914 to 1918. Talks available areVotes for Women and the Great War - women's role in the war and how it affected the struggle for equality.
