Michael is an attorney in the Firm’s Real Estate and Redevelopment & Land Use Departments, representing clients in a broad range of real estate transactions, litigation, land use matters, and municipal tax appeals. He concentrates his practice in the acquisition, disposition and leasing of commercial and multi-family residential properties, and the development and redevelopment of real estate. Mr. Coskey routinely represents clients before municipal land use boards and governing bodies, and has experience overseeing and coordinating title disputes, and drafting easements, restrictive covenants, and other operational and organizational documents on behalf of business and property owners.

Draft, review and negotiate commercial and residential real estate purchase and sale agreements and lease agreements, corporate organizational documents, and operating agreements for numerous small, mid-sized and large businesses. Represent public and private entities in real property tax assessment appeals and related litigation. Counsel various government entities in the areas of municipal law, the Municipal Land Use Law, the Local Redevelopment and Housing Law, the Open Public Records Act, the Open Public Meetings Act, the New Jersey Tort Claims Act, Green and Blue Acres Open Space programs, and NJDEP regulatory law.

Responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements, and providing guidance, direction, and assistance on a wide variety of commercial real estate transactions. Analyze contractual requirements, special provisions, and legal terms and conditions to ensure compliance with federal, State and local laws, regulations, and policies.

Represented mortgage lenders and servicers in foreclosure, loan restructuring, and lien priority disputes, and defended against affirmative claims brought under the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).

Researched, analyzed, and drafted legal memorandum for the court in various areas of the law including municipal appeals, procedural and substantive criminal law, and general equity matters.
