Dr. Michael Couper has been programming and developing custom software solutions for nearly three decades and has a wealth of experience bringing together disparate fields of study and expertise into innovative projects. The objectives of Global Green Worx require the integration of sophisticated software development skills, high-level architecture, project design and management, advanced research capabilities, and teaching aptitude, all of which Dr. Couper is uniquely suited to supply. Dr. Couper has a wealth of experience as an educator, having served on the faculties of San Diego State University, CSU San Bernardino, as well as CEO and majority owner of California Computer Schools, a leader in computer training for over 35 years. Since 2014 he served as the Director of Programming of the Internet and software development department of California Computer Schools, CCS Interactive, through which he began his years-long relationship with Global Green Worx. Projects of note include building multiple generations of content management and website deployment systems from the ground up in response to rapidly changing internet standards as well as custom frontend and backend solutions including law firm intake, medical field case management, and school district student IEP case management portals. Dr. Couper’s demonstrated capacity for cross-curricular study and advancement provide significant value to Global Green Worx’s integration of 21st-century Machine Learning techniques with conventional data analysis in designing intuitive user interfaces (UI) for high-level applications. Hailed by the New York Times for his “sweet intensity” and “insinuating smoothness,” modern saxophonist Michael Couper has performed internationally as a soloist and chamber musician at venues including the Seoul Arts Center, Merkin Hall, and Carnegie Hall, and is engaged by the San Diego, San Bernardino, and Modesto Symphonies, and the San Diego Opera, among others. Under the pseudonym “Shrodinger’s Sax”, Dr. Couper plays soprano saxophone with the musically acrobatic and genre-defying band SWARMIUS, described as “a sonic fusion of hip-hop and house-lounge-techno meets modern-classical.” Dr. Couper has served on the faculty at CSU San Bernardino and San Diego State University, and is a Conn-Selmer Artist endorsing Yanagisawa saxophones.
