This position also included the training of specialest departments on new technolgy and methods, with in the boundaries of the law and with the ability to present in court. I was a founding member to introduce the first digital camera to the sciences of crime (SOC) unit on the Sunshine Coast Qld. As a joint venture with the then Senior Sargent of the unit, we where able to over come the courts decision to not allow digital images as evidence. In efforts to keeping cost low and quality high, I have engaged international companies to supply where the Australian wholesalers where not able to deliver. On one occasion this was for some 60+ digital cameras for a national fishing competition. Each team had to record the fish they had by ways of digital photo and then release the fish. The tech I had sourced, not only filled the required the job at hand by landed was 20% cheaper then anything available nationally at the time. The comp was a success and each unit operated as required and without fault. It was a such a success that it came in under budge at the time and the same system was used for a couple of year following without complaint.
