Dr Michael Crawford has over 25 years experience in extension, research, policy, science management and executive leadership in areas related to agriculture production and natural resource management. He is currently CEO of the Cooperative Research Centre for High Performance Soils where he provides leadership to over 200 staff in partner organisations across Australia with expertise in soil science and related disciplines.Michael has an Honours Degree in Agricultural Science from the University of Melbourne and a PhD in Soil Science from the University of Adelaide. His PhD examined carbon sequestration in soil and its implications for both sustainable crop production and greenhouse gas abatement. He also has an Executive Masters Degree in Public Administration from the University of Melbourne and the Australia New Zealand School of Government and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
