The innovative nature of this work involved an input into (i) the drafts of the "PPG13 Good Practice Guide", looking at the links between locational aspects of planning and transportation; (ii) the English Nature publication "Sustainability in Practice" concerning sustainability within statutory development plans and (iii) the Local Government Management Board's (LGMB) “Sustainable Settlements” guide for designers. Other work included piloting the LGMB's national 'sustainability indicators' project and producing a 'design guide for sustainable development' as part of Bedfordshire’s Local Agenda 21 work.
