As lead imaging services system administrator for UC San Diego Health my team and I have successfully deployed PACS, RIS, voice recognition, structured reporting, 3D and VNA systems for the enterprise. We started as a small PACS team but we have grown over the last few years into a complete enterprise imaging team. We support multiple hospitals and departments imaging needs including telemedicine where our physicians help to diagnose and treat patients whom are being treated in distant clinics.In an educational setting we have an annual user build and training on all systems and workflows. These annual processes allow us to constantly review processes for efficiency and efficacy. Where possible we automate common tasks, improving consistency and expediting issue resolution. Creating custom reports provides transparency to the department and executive reports for review. Custom reporting is also used to generate dashboards to aid in system stability and maintenance; they allow us to identify issues before the customers see them in most cases. Custom applications and integrations are built when required using a variety of tools. I currently have a custom migration engine moving all stored PACS procedures to our new VNA at a HUGE savings over using the vendor provided solution. While working for the UCSD / Tenet MRI joint venture it was my responsibility to process and track all accounts payable, track and audit contractual obligations, write and maintain Kronos integration with bio-metric timekeeper system, plan and execute employee team building events, and perform regular process improvement evaluations.
