Key Activities: Work with product design engineers to ensure proper DFAM (design for assembly and manufacturing) principles are followed. Launch / Lexus / Special Projects Engineer:- In charge of new Lexus front seat line process & equipment development. Included developing assembly process from drawings and conceptualizing equipment needed for assembly. - Manage and oversee risk management for all new product launches. - Lead ergonomic task force to improve team member safety through identifying of high risk process and developing plans of action to improve employee safety. Previously: Front Seat Line Industrial Engineer for Toyota Business Unit. I oversaw 4 production lines that manufacture seats for 3 different Toyota vehicles produced at the Georgetown, KY plant.

Key Responsibilities: Process Improvement – Develop and lead all process improvements with regards to increased production, higher quality, increased worker safety, and lower operating costs. Accomplishments: - Developed plan and equipment to increase powder coat throughput by 40%, improve worker ergonomics and safety, and save $100,000/yr on labor, utilities, and consumables. - Designed and built new weld fixtures that are capable of producing twelve different parts, which increased production rates by 40%, improved part quality, and eliminated manual welding operation. - Designed new assembly line with goal of increasing daily production from 220 finished goods to 400 finished goods (in progress, division of labor, and standard work for new stations completed). Maintenance Management – Manage six maintenance techinicians and schedule all preventative maintenance for equipment. Equipment includes 8 robotic mig welding cells, powder coat line, and 4 assembly lines. Implemented new maintenance tracking system which has led to better record keeping and cost management. Facility Manager – Oversee maintenance for two locations, main manufacturing plant (300,000 sq ft), and finished goods distribution center (100,000 sq ft). Includes all major upkeep and repair work.

Production Engineering Specialist in Seat Assembly Welding Group, January 2009 to June 2010 Key tasks included: Process Planning – Developed process plans for manufacturing new seat frames, including manual and machine cycle time estimates to meet Production requirements including equipment and specifications. Labor Planning – Developed labor requirements, equipment layouts, and standardized work combinations for new processes. Adjusted labor resources on existing product lines to handle fluctuations in volume. Project Management - Worked with suppliers to develop schedule to meet milestones and work within project budget. Coordinated production trials with plant resources. Process Improvement – Studied existing manufacturing lines to improve efficiency by reducing downtime and wasted worker movements. Applied lessons learned to new lines, including designing part flow racks with all parts within operator’s reach without having to leave the welding cell. Innovation – Developed standardized documents used department-wide to report process plans, work combinations, and standardized work to plant management and executives. Helped create new robotic mig welding cell concept to reduce equipment size and price. Quotation – Provided budgetary quotes for Sales department on future new business opportunities.

Worked as a part time intern in the laser color printer division. Contributed to ongoing research to develop more efficient and accurate method to find 1st and 2nd transfer efficiencies. Helped confirm and improve method for testing transfer efficiency.
