Plan, organize and administer assessment, accountability and evaluation activities of the district. The director will promote using data to inform decision-making in the San Leandro School District that supports continuous improvement, and excellence for all students and programs. The director will be responsible for implementing, directing and maintaining the district's application and use of assessment and evaluation data. The director will be looked upon to be the visionary and authority on assessment, evaluation and accountability and conducting professional development trainings.

Plans, coordinates, implements and evaluates the Title programs. Develops, directs, evaluates and administers procedures, programs, budgets, staffing and staff development as related to the above programs/services and advises the Superintendent on matters regarding Instructional Programs district wide.

Collaborate with team members to develop, plan, and implement professional development, products, and services for clients related to Child Find, evaluation, and collaborative ARD supports.Provide assistance in activities related to compliance with state and federal laws and State Board of Education rules and regulations.Participate in developing, planning, and implementing programs to meet the unique needs of diverse populations of students with disabilities.Help plan and implement ongoing needs assessment systems for client programs and Region 4 services.Participate in developing communication networks between the service center and client personnel.Help monitor the effectiveness of department activities in the region and provide leadership in evaluating those activities.Assist in planning and developing special project activities, i.e. grant proposals, interdepartmental services, demonstration sites, research studies, and other client-based projects.Provide technical assistance and services as specified by any applicable federal grant that funds this position.

Assist in planning, developing, and implementing instructional programs and objectives with teachers, principals, and district curriculum leaders, including district scope and sequence, instructional focus activities, district, assessments, and teaching strategies as it correlates with TEKS, ELPS, and STAAR.Applies research and district studies to assist in improving the content, sequence, and outcomes of the teaching/learning process.Assists with the integration, coordination, and development of curricular programs for the district.Works with appropriate teachers and staff to assist in developing, maintaining, and revising curriculum based on systematic review and analysis.Models effective teaching strategies as a means of providing support and training to district teachers.Promotes K-12 vertical alignment as it pertains to the effective teaching of curriculum throughout the district.Develops resources, materials, and programs for preparation of district and state administered assessments as needed.Facilitates the effective use of technology in the teaching/learning process.Assists in disaggregation of test data and provides assistance in developing a format for training teachers to interpret and use data as a means of informing instruction.Assists principals and campus personnel in tutorial programs as requested.
