My passion for computers began in 1983 when I unwrapped an Atari 800XL on Christmas morning. While my friends were playing video games, I was exploring coding and message boards with a Bell 212 dial-up modem. By 14, I had written my first program in Basic.I’ve taken diverse paths—serving in the Marine Corps, building homes, and working in sales—but my love for computers remained constant. When tech jobs were scarce, computers were just a passion. As technology became mainstream, I enrolled at the Brick Computer Science Institute, where I honed my IT skills.In 2002, I founded Black Bear MSSP, which has grown from a software development venture to a leading Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) focused on cybersecurity and HIPAA compliance. Our journey has been about more than keeping up with trends; it’s about leading the charge against cyber threats, particularly in the healthcare sector.Our commitment to cybersecurity transformed Black Bear into a digital fortress. Reflecting on my journey, from a 12-year-old with an Atari to leading Black Bear MSSP, it’s been an exciting adventure. Despite the serious nature of our work, I've ensured that this path remains engaging and fulfilling. Who says IT professionals can't have a bit of fun while securing the digital world?
