Naturally goal-oriented, I create business impact by incorporating a detailed and nuanced approach to training and motivating teams to increase revenue and profitability, driving optimal business results.As a trusted client partner, I am a consultative and engaged client-focused professional with expert knowledge of the formulary decision-making process, rebate contracting as well as medical and pharmacy policy. My authentic approach to building relationships, networking, and creating mutually agreeable outcomes is key to my success. As an undergrad, I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science. I enjoyed science in high school and coupled with my love of the outdoors, it seemed logical to me to find a career that combined the two.I traveled the country numerous times, visiting state and national parks so I could experience nature in the western part of the United States. I believed I was destined to become an Environmental Engineer, and actually began studies for my Master’s Degree at Johns Hopkins. But life sometimes throws you a career curve ball and if you catch it, you can find yourself going down a completely different path. Shortly after graduation, I was offered a sales position in pharmaceuticals, and I discovered a whole other passion. I realized I loved being customer facing. Engaging with and problem-solving with my clients energized me. One of the driving motivators, the reward I newly discovered, was promoting innovative medicines that change people’s lives for the better. Success in sales led me to being promoted to leadership, where I had the opportunity to recruit and develop teams; teaching them how to drive growth, create impact and achieve their individual career goals. I gravitated to Market Access because I experienced how important it is to successfully launch and grow new brands. The financial and business strategy that are essential to success in a Market Access role are what compelled me to go back to school to earn my M.B.A. from the Loyola University of Maryland 15 years after completing my undergraduate studies. My work today is about furthering access to important medicines that enable people to have healthier lives. It is a passion and a privilege that I get to exercise every working day, as a Regional Account Manager in Market Access for AbbVie.
