In this role I worked with the Country/National Sales Manager to support the sales team's resources, focus and performance. I assisted with account distribution, target setting and monitoring. I allocated sales leads and coordinated sales projects and feedback. I sourced and collated statistics and market information for local and overseas management and sales teams to maximise existing and new business opportunities.

This role was primarily as a logistics pricing and commercial expert, including providing support to the sales and key account management teams and customer service team. Procurement, quoting, pricing advice, assisting with and managing tender submissions, and problem solving. This covered import and export seafreight, airfreight, and land transport. I liaised with shipping lines, freight coloaders, airfreight suppliers, transport operators - both locally and globally via overseas offices and agent networks.

This role commenced with Sydney Ports Corporation and transferred to NSW Ports in 2013 following the privatisation of NSW Government assets at Port Botany and Port Kembla. Reporting to the Trade and Marketing Manager, the main function was to assist with customer and stakeholder relationship management and provide support with marketing activities and commercial strategies. Also, in this role I reviewed and updated the organisation’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and following privatisation in 2013, the role also included working across different teams on projects to replace or update operating and reporting systems.

In this role I was assisting the National General Sales Manager with coordinating national export sales, reporting customer and regional monthly results versus budget, coordinating specific statistical data and coordinating specific sales plans. I also assisted the National Imports manager with key account relationship management and relevant sales coordination and administration.

In this role I was reporting to two National Sales Managers and liaising with state managers around the country to restructure, hire and train staff and then coordinate all functions and systems for Inside Sales. The Inside Sales function also took on the quoting function for the company which involved further set up and training and liaising with commercial management for guidance on national pricing and regularly downloading current strategies on this to the entire national sales team. I also managed my own account base and customer relationships.
