As the Executive Director of Industrial Design Outreach (IDO), I lead the organization in its mission to empower underserved youth through design education. Responsible for the overall management and operation of San Francisco City Guides and over 350+ volunteers and office staff while collaborating with the City Guides Management Board in developing program, organizational and financial goals and executable fundraising plans. Set policy, set budgets, and led the recruitment, supervision, and management of volunteers and staff. Doubled reserves and volunteer staffing while building one of the most respected nonprofit community organizations of its kind in the world.

Working in LilyPods Division (affordable and environmentally sound modular children's spaces) led marketing and brand development, web site design, and traffic growth. Developed marketing strategy, plan, and materials with a focus on new business development and outreach.

Led strategic planning for new, expanded Community Learning Center (CLC) in San Francisco’s Richmond District. Work included program and operations management, strategic planning, partnership development, fundraising, architectural planning, and reporting to board on the progress of all aspects of development. I managed all CLC programs, including community-focused youth programming, which included oversight and supervision of all staff members — raised over $550K in funding from individuals and organizations for the capital campaign and operating programs while managing current facility maintenance, operations, and rentals.

I managed all aspects of the maintenance and operations of the flagship community recreation facility (Indoor Pool, Indoor Basketball Gym, Fitness Studios and Programming, Fitness Center, and Afterschool Programs). Oversaw the development, implementation, and administration of all programming, including coordination of membership drives, which led to approximately 10,000 new members. I also accounted for all revenue generated through membership, programming, and consultant-led classes while ensuring that all center funds and membership targets were accurately tracked and documented. I raised over $500K in annual revenue and brought in 10,000 new members and supervised, developed, and evaluated a staff of more than 40 maintenance, recreation, and supervisory staff. Thanks to our incredible Parks team, we were identified continuously as “Best of Parks: Best Recreation Center” and were awarded as such.

I oversaw product and program development for new and innovative Explorer programming I created citywide. Programs included environmental and adventure programming such as kayaking, camping, canoeing, rock climbing, and orienteering. I also created and directed the Outdoor Skills Instructor (OSI) Program to focus on the proper training of Ranger instructors. To help support this work, I identified and secured corporate and foundation grants for outdoor recreation programs and training while administering all Explorer program and OSI-specific budgets. These programs continue to today and have influenced and touched thousands of youth that would never have come in contact with the wild side of New York City's Parks.
