Cvitkovic is an internationally accredited and award-winning executive with more than 25 years of professional experience including strategic planning, event and facility management, sponsorship, corporate communications, government relations and finance. Leadership experience in showcasing world-class sporting events and global brands.On January 16, 2024, he was appointed President and CEO of Abilities Centre in Whitby. Cvitkovic was named the first Ottawa BlackJacks president in franchise history in November 2019 and has provided broadcasting and government relations consulting to the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). He spent the first CEBL season alongside mentor John Lashway, helping launch the Hamilton Honey Badgers, before moving to the nation’s capital. Earlier this year, Cvitkovic was appointed as president of Brampton’s only pro sports team - the Brampton Honey Badgers when the franchise relocated and Lashway was named deputy commissioner of the CEBL. Cvitkovic was the General Manager of the Toronto 2017 North American Indigenous Games, responsible for government relations, managing the Games $10.5M budget, delivering the 14 sport competitions, HR, MarComm, Sponsorship, Logistics and Volunteer Services. He served as a member of the senior management team at Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre Inc., and helped open the largest federal sport infrastructure build. TPASC serves as a word-class venue for high performance sport, community recreation and university recreation.Cvitkovic was executive director of Ontario Basketball, successfully negotiating a 20-year facility partnership with Abilities Centre, creating a provincial training centre, while overseeing the construction of the new head office. Cvitkovic spent five years as director of communications and media relations for Tennis Canada and Rogers Cup Toronto - the world-renown ATP and WTA events. He served as press chief for the Canadian Paralympic Committee at the 2010 Vancouver Olympic and Paralympic Games.While at Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, Cvitkovic was a member of the Toronto Raptors Basketball Club media relations team for six seasons, which included public relations work at the 2005 NBA All-Star Game. Prior to his time in pro sports, Cvitkovic served as sport and recreation information officer at York University.An Olympic broadcaster, Cvitkovic received a Masters Certificate in Marketing Communications Management from the Schulich School of Business, and is professionally accredited with the International Association of Business Communicators.
