Senior Program ManagerCity Of Boston Jun 2022 - Mar 2024Boston, Ma, Us"Michael establishes relationships inside and outside of the Mayor's Office of Financial Empowerment (OFE) that enhance the levels of cooperation, collaboration and trust. Michael commendably manages those relationships and encouragingly mentors interns. He creatively builds teams and motivates partners. He created and helps to drive all the sub-committees which have produced an impressive array of activities, integration, results, and press.Daily, he prepares and delivers clear, concise, timely and persuasive communications. He actively listens to others and promotes an open exchange of ideas and opinions. Michael has his own style and it can be seen as informal. It endears him to his stakeholders and partners and has served the OFE and Bank On Boston well. OFE senior leadership provided some constructive criticism about this informality, and as a result, he has tightened up his writing style to adhere to a more “business” standard, while not losing his uniqueness."Michael leads the Bank On Boston Builds Credit Safe Products Committee and co-created the first ever Credit Building Product Guidelines and Standards for Secured Credit Cards and Credit Building Loans.Michael served on the Boston Planning and Development Agency's Diversity Equity Inclusion (Steering) Committee. He led the Brave Spaces subcommittee.Brave Spaces is tasked with creating a judgment-free zone/safe space for BPDA staff. We will host discussions on issues affecting staff that are often ignored, downplayed, or exacerbated in the BPDA work space or nationwide. The committee leader along with the BPDA executive committee reach out to H.R. to learn about the policy and procedures for how the particular issue is addressed. The Brave Space committee researches and develops policy and/or procedure that is a better fit for "situation." Once the policy and/or procedure is drafted the committee leader and BPDA executive committee will present it to H.R. and BPDA management. -

FellowshipCity Of Boston Nov 2019 - Nov 2020Boston, Ma, Us"Michael’s work consistently exceeded expectations. He developed a well-organized, committed, and extremely productive Bank On Boston Coalition. He managed OFE partners and stakeholders with acumen. He has more than doubled the Bank On Boston certified accounts in this past year through tenacious advocacy."The Bank On Boston Fellow works directly with regulators, community based organizations, national and regional financial institutions to encourage the widespread availability of safe, low cost transactional products. Michael believes that banking access is critical to individual and community financial security, and he knows that real progress takes a joint effort among stakeholders and partners committed to the cause. One key challenge facing unbanked and underbanked individuals has been a lack of safe, affordable, and appropriate accounts offered by mainstream financial institutions, particularly those without (overdraft) fees. "The best things in life are not fees!"Michael works closely with the Bank On National Advisory Board and other key stakeholders to develop/implement the Bank On National Account Standards. Inspired by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation’s Model Safe Accounts Template, these standards provide local programs with a benchmark for account partnerships with financial institutions, including their local partners. -

Local PerformerXavier Le Roy - Center Mar 2010 - Apr 2010This work was first developed at the Centre Chorégraphique National de Montpellier in 2008 and presented in Madrid at the festival In-presentable in June 2009 under the title to contemplate. It was later shown under the title floor pieces at the collection of Julia Stoschek in Düsseldorf in January 2009. Developed during several residencies, Le Roy worked with local performers in order to challenge the tendencies toward the consensus that he believes group work tends to perpetuate. Each phase of the ongoing project involves the transmission of scenes that have been composed in previous residencies while incorporating new scenes produced by the local group. The performance, developed over time, remains singular and renewed in each city. While at MIT, its unique community shaped the project based on its mix of participants and their diverse horizons.http://www.e-artnow.org/announcement-archive/archive/2010/4/article/ACTION/3607/
