The Senior Manager leads the Sponsored Students team, which manages scholarship arrangements with the Australian Government and key international partners and sponsors. The role engages with foreign embassies, government departments and sponsoring agencies, identifies strategic scholarship funding opportunities, develops policies and procedures to support UQ’s international scholarship arrangements and oversees the development of scholarship agreements to ensure that obligations are appropriately met.

The Financial Aid/Sponsorship Manager (International) provides strategic direction to, and is directly responsible for, the management and operation of all aspects of the International Office’s programs for sponsorships, scholarships and financial aid and any other types of funding support. In addition, the position will has the responsibility for management of the annual project to establish international student fees.All aspects of the Financial Aid & Sponsorship Manager position require high level liaison with University senior management; representatives from state, federal and international government bodies, community groups and a range of external clients, including international partners and sponsors.

In this position I was also required to liaise closely with academic elements of the University and with external organisations in relation to international admissions.

Provided a comprehensive range of executive support services to the Managers of the Business Development Unit in relation to TAFE’s Queensland international programs. Coordinated and undertook specific projects including areas of project management, research and preparation of documents. Lead and managed the Executive Support Unit in the provision of effective support for Business Development staff to ensure achievement of the Institute’s goals.

Contributed to the organisational performance of Wide Bay TAFE’s international business by providing advice and assistance to their international student cohort to enable them to work towards successful completion of their program of study. This included the management of the Homestay program TAFE ran in conjunction with the local Hervey Bay, Maryborough and Bundaberg communities. Promotion of a range of commercial training programs, with particular emphasis on quality and performance outcomes for the TAFE. I also used my information technology skills to enhance the international program by designing several database management systems, financial spreadsheets and other management systems.
