Satellite Network Controller
• Supervised $52 million Wideband Satellite Operations Center• Responsible for maintaining satellite ground equipment, and command and control related subsystems aboard Defense Satellite Communications Systems (DSCS) and Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) satellites.• Performed preventative and demand maintenance on an AN/GSC-52 X band antenna and related equipment such as high powered amplifiers, up-converters, down-converters, modems, and cryptographic devices.• Maintained DSCS and WGS network control subsystems to include: DFCS, AN/USC-28, RFMOW, RSCCE, GSCCE, WRMS, RAS, and DASA.• Used specially developed software to control and maintain availability of planned wideband missions, troubleshoot individual missions, and eliminate unauthorized users to guarantee quality communications.• Utilized secure\non-secure phones and terrestrial critical control circuits to assure positive control of the DSCS and WGS networks.• Coordinated and controlled satellite access for: Department of Defense (DOD), Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), White House Communications Agency (WHCA), Diplomatic Telecommunications Service (DTS), and National Security Agency (NSA)• Worked frequently with cryptographic devices to include setting up circuits, troubleshooting circuits, and performing cryptographic key loads, VUX’s, and OTAR's for live circuits.• Responsible for attaining and destroying cryptographic keys and the recording and witnessing of such actions in accordance with cryptographic regulations.• Trained and certified new personnel to provide technical support for satellite ground station operators and control satellite payloads• Positions Held:- Managed publications library for A Co, 53rd Sig Bn- Satellite operator technical support master trainer- HMMWV egress instructor- Company military weapons system instructor- Company Army Emergency Relief coordinator- Company CFC coordinator- Team member individual trainer- Company absentee voting assistance coordinator
