I previously worked for Ofsted as a social care regulatory inspector. The inspection and improvement directorate is responsible for delivering timely and high-quality inspections in all institutions that Ofsted regulates and inspects, ensuring consistent standards across remits, developing high quality inspections and ensuring they are used to best effect on inspections, and supporting and improvement in those services inspected and regulated. I have particular responsibility for inspecting children's homes and independent fostering agencies as well as registration of new provisions. I worked for Ofsted from October 2016 to April 2023. My previous role in social care was as a registered fostering manager for a local authority. I have been a manager at both strategic and operational level within the service. I have also spent time as a residential care worker and social worker within children's social care and the private sector. In fostering I have covered the roles of a supervising social worker, a deputy team manager, team manager and registered manager. As per my previous role as a fostering manager and as an inspector I take pride in my knowledge of the fostering national minimum standards 2011 for England and the fostering services (England) regulations 2011. During my time in the local authority children's services I worked alongside multi-agency partners and as a strategic manager in a local authority I have presented numerous reports on marketing and recruitment strategies for fostering and associated reports in-line with running a fostering service. I have many years of supervisory experience and have appropriately advised in a fostering panel as an agency advisor. As well as my experience gained during my time with Ofsted I worked for 11 years in the fostering service at all levels, 8 years in management and 4 years as the registered manager accountable to Ofsted as the regulator.
