Responsible for all acoustic aspects of Bose Hear and Bose Sleep product lines from early stage through product development and release.

Led the Audio and Acoustic innovation program for Google’s Advanced Technologies and Projects (ATAP), a group based on DARPA’s innovation model. Responsible for creating new capabilities through scouting emerging technologies and applying them to user needs within a lightning-fast 2 year term.Accomplishments include:- Developed a data-driven vision for improving audio and acoustic functions for mobile computing devices, and secured organizational buy-in to fund the work.- Identified, recruited, contracted and led a broad-based external team of universities, private companies, and technical experts to deliver on this vision.- Created demonstrations of new capabilities and generated associated intellectual property resulting in proprietary audio software for playback and authentication, a new class of audio accessories, transducer replacement technologies, and 20 granted patents.- Presented regularly to senior Google and Motorola executives and an elite external Technical Advisory Board.(Continuation and completion of two year fixed term assignment, starting in Motorola.)

Built the acoustics team and all acoustic capabilities from the ground up, transitioning from early stage startup to high volume supplier of Acoustic MEMS Microphones.Key Responsibilities/Accomplishments: - Built and led the acoustics team that drove product development. - Developed Akustica’s modeling, design, and acoustic characterization infrastructure forming the foundation for development of all Akustica products. - Served as the lead acoustic designer on multiple award winning products. - Specified and drove development of first generation production test fleet, enabling delivery of initial production volumes on time for first product launch. - Drove a globally distributed team to replace original technology platform, ultimately leading to the highest performing and highest production volume microphones in Akustica’s history. - Awarded Bosch North American Inventor of the Year Award.Akustica was purchased by the Bosch Group in 2009.
