Senior ConsultantAvanade May 2011 - Dec 2011Canberra, AustraliaWhile at Avanade Michael was considered an industry thought leader in the implementation and customisation of Microsoft’s Team Foundation Server (TFS).He wrote several articles on the subject for Microsoft’s MSDN magazine before being asked to host a 4-hour presentation at Microsoft’s Tech Ed 2007 held at the Gold Coast, QLD. The presentation focussed specifically on customising TFS and implementing source control on code written in non-Microsoft based languages (for example, COBOL). At the time, Michael’s customisations were considered a world first and drew a lot of attention. Michael also featured in Tech Ed video interviews with Ron Jacobs, host of ARCast.TV. In 2007 Michael worked as a Senior Consultant on the Australian Taxation Office’s Change Program, Phase 1 and 2, rolling out Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) to the ATO’s various and disparate development teams (ICP COBOL, Siebel, etc). The Change Program was a large and complex Information and Communication Technology (ICT) project that ran for approximately seven years during which time it was subject to constant change with components being removed or added to the initial scope. The total costs for the Change Program were estimated around $445 million. Michael worked closely with Project Managers from Accenture, Booz Allen Hamilton and the ATO to ensure the team delivered on time and within budget. -
