AAS is a full spectrum, cradle-to-grave acquisition, project and financial management services provider. It provides custom acquisition, project, and financial management support services to federal agencies across the federal government. We help agencies acquire the services they need to advance their mission, guiding them through every stage of the acquisition process. In my role as Unlimited Contracting Officer / Team Lead, I am responsible for providing effective and sound business advice in the procurement of complex and/or diversified services needed in the successful accomplishment of the operational missions. I also provide technical direction for a team of acquisition professionals in developing short/long-range plans on requirements and assist in acquisition planning for Government agencies (mainly Department of Defense). I oversee the team's pre-solicitation/post-award functions such as market research, assisted customer with procurement packages, acquisition strategies, supporting documentation, requests for proposals, evaluation process, negotiated on behalf of the Government, issued contract awards and ensured proper contract management. The 338th ESS is part of the Air Force Installation Contracting Agency (AFICA), located at Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio.At the 338th ESS, I served as a Contracting Officer responsible for providing effective and sound business advice in the procurement of complex and/or diversified services (Foreign Military Sales requirements) needed in the successful accomplishment of the operational missions of the Air Education and Training Command (AETC) and the Air Force Security Assistance Training Squadron (AFSAT). I performed pre-solicitation functions such as market research, assist customer with procurement packages, create acquisition strategies, draft supporting documentation, issues requests for proposal, analyzes proposals, briefs customer on evaluation process, negotiate on behalf of the Government, issue contract awards and ensure proper contract management. 338th ESS -- Mission The 338th ESS provides world-class specialized contracting support to HQ AETC and their associated partners/tenants for large dollar and complex acquisitions, source selections and strategic sourcing efforts. The AFLCMC is one of six centers reporting to the Air Force Materiel Command. Led by a 3-star general officer, AFLCMC is charged with life cycle management of Air Force weapon systems from their inception to retirement.AFLCMC provides holistic management of weapon systems across their life cycle and simplifies/consolidates staff functions and processes to curtail redundancy and enhance efficiency. AFLCMC's operating structure provides an integrated framework for decision making and process optimization across the weapon system life cycle.AFLCMC people work closely with their counterparts at the other five AFMC centers, each with a core mission focus: Air Force Research Laboratory (science & technology); Air Force Test Center (test & evaluation); Air Force Sustainment Center (maintenance, repair, overhaul and supply chain management); Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (strategic systems); and the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center (installation support).The execution directorates include Program Execution; Technical Engineering Services; Financial Management Mission; Logistics Services; Contract Execution; Cyber & Analysis Programs; Program Development & Integration; and Intelligence.

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- For the people of the 502nd Air Base Wing, providing installation support services everyday across the Joint Base San Antonio enterprise, is just the job.What most people may not know is the scope of that job, with the wing supporting 266 mission partners at JBSA-Fort Sam Houston, JBSA-Lackland, JBSA-Randolph, JBSA-Camp Bullis and seven other operating locations throughout the greater San Antonio area. From comptroller support to civil engineering, legal, logistics readiness, public affairs, safety, security and almost everything in between, the 502nd ABW is helping sustain the readiness of JBSA mission partners to accomplish their missions.For sheer size, scope and geographical dispersion, JBSA is the largest of any joint base in the entire Department of Defense, with almost 80,000 assigned personnel. In comparison, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, located in Tacoma, Wash., has approximately 50,000 assigned personnel and is the next closest in size to JBSA.An economic juggernaut, JBSA has a direct impact of $15.5 billion on San Antonio and an impact of $87.9 billion on the overall economy of Texas.
