I competed in NCAA Division 1 Golf tournaments travelling around the United States with the UVU's Golf team. I learned how to balance myself to be successful in the classroom and on the golf course. In my Junior and Senior years, The Golf Coaches Association of America named me a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Division 1 Scholar. To be eligible for this honour, I had to be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50 percent of my team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0, and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. I also had to be of high moral character and be in good standing at my university.I was also nominated for Utah Valley's "Scholar Athlete of the Year" Award in 2013 for my strong performance on the golf course and in the classroom.
