I created Six Star Home Management to help busy families in North Georgia and ensure their biggest investments—their homes—are personally cared for in their absences. Prior to starting my business, I was a premise technician at AT&T where I worked closely with customers, both inside and outside of their homes, to install and troubleshoot digital TV, high-speed internet and voice services. As one of several thousand technicians in the southeast, I am proud to have been ranked 2nd among them, and as a result, was bestowed the Top Performer award each quarter for three consecutive years. Before moving to Georgia 10 years ago, I worked as an IT Specialist for the New York City Department of Corrections (NYC DOC) where I devised all IT strategies and led IT operational initiatives for voice and data communications. I also partnered with construction crews, consultants, electricians and various vendors throughout NYC to discuss these strategies in order to meet deadlines, safety codes and requirements. In addition, I was responsible for a crew of over 10 IT professionals who installed fiber optics and CISCO networking equipment and updated the correction facilities' landline phone systems to internet-based phones. During my 12 year tenure with the NYC DOC, I earned the Excellence in Technology award for infrastructure support. This was due, in large part, to my design and run of two separate fiber optic loops through manhole systems throughout Riker's Island, in addition to connecting 10 correction facilities to fiber loops and splicing fiber in the individual facilities to the main HUBs. I was also awarded the Excellence Award for my recognition and dedication to outstanding service in response to the World Trade Center Emergency. I am also trained and certified in Hubbel Premise Wiring, Leviton, Fiber Optic Fusion Splicing and Fiber Optics, as well as Termination and Gas Detection and AMP NETCONNECT.
