Michael Davies is passionate about providing effective risk, resilience and recovery solutions for organisations. Michael has been involved in the Resilience & Business Continuity Industry for nearly 20 years, having spent several years in the IT Industry with companies such as Dimension Data, Enterprise Technologies, Amdahl, Computer Configurations and MGX. Michael spent his earlier years on the financial side of business with the progression in 2011 from financial director to CEO of ContinuitySA. He has been privileged to speak about Resilience and Business Continuity Management (BCM) at various conferences in Africa and while at the helm of ContinuitySA, the company won numerous prestigious awards including being inducted into the Global Business Continuity Institute Hall of Fame. This was after winning the Continuity and Resilience Provider award for Africa for 3 consecutive years. In addition, the Continuity and Resilience Consulting team award has been won twice in succession. Having previously been awarded the Industry Personality of the Year award by the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) in 2018, Michael was honoured to receive the Resilience and BCM Contributor for Africa award in 2020 and an Honorary Fellowship of the BCI in the same year. Michael is a Fellow member of the Institute of Directors of South Africa, a member of the Institute of Risk Management South Africa (IRMSA) and Chairman of the African Committee of IRMSA. During 2022, Michael became a member of the Risk Management Association of Mauritius. Michael’s latest ambition is helping organisations in integrating strategy, risk and resilience for them to remain effective and sustainable in times of great uncertainty and accelerating change.
