Decided to take a career change and move into the Prison Service. As a Prison Officer my role was very varied and presented many challenges on pretty much a daily basis. This gave me invaluable experience in handling a vast range of situations and personalities and helped me understand how people tick. Moved back into Logistics due to poor salaries in Prison Service.

Responsible for all aspects of a European operation operating a fleet of 32 vehicles and 16 owner drivers. Delivering a quality prompt service for customers across the EU. Planning of the vehicles collections and deliveries, vehicle servicing schedules, making sure the drivers adhere to tachograph regulations. Managing costs and budgets to get the maximum out of staff and vehicles.

A brief outline of some of the stuff done 1995 - 1997 Motivation and Management of a thirty man team. Played a key role in the planning and movement of a 5 million pound inventory from Germany to Bosnia to provide the logistics needed to support the conflict requirements. Training and development of novices on a global computer system ensuring department protocol is adhered to. Also during this time I was responsible for enforcing the health and safety and fire regulations throughout the department. 1992 - 1995 Managed a project to create a new operational area from a disused Building. Responsible for all aspects including planning, specification and procurement of equipment and services. Selected to form a four man audit team monitoring Warehouse account procedures in accordance with regulations. 1989 – 1992 Managed a six man team operating a HGV1 shunting service throughout a Large depot, during which time I implemented a shift pattern, which in turn saved a substantial amount of tax payers money and subsequently lead to my next promotion.1984 – 1989 I spent these years gaining experience in my chosen trade as a Supply specialist attending various courses, both military and trade and gaining my first promotion.
