About Michael D.

I am a highly motivated, instrument rated commercial pilot on single and multi engine airplanes. I am also a certified flight instructor. As a pilot, I am very conservative with the choices I make and I constantly consider safety as well as maintaining client professionalism. It is through student instruction I strive to gain experience to become a master aviator.In addition to flying, I am skilled in, and passionate about the applied and natural sciences which is why I am pursuing entry into an ABET accredited graduate program for Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering. It is my hope to continue my studies beginning Fall 2024.Once I am equipped with the knowledge obtained from a Master of Science degree, and experience gained from flight instruction, it is my long term goal to become a pioneer in the aerospace sector.

The first study measured Eustachian tube discomfort as compared to varying descent profiles when being treated by a hyperbaric chamber. The second is ongoing and measured agreement between professionals of two grading systems of Barotrauma to the eardrum.Summer 2022I programmed two data collection surveys in python measuring agreement between raters of two different grading scales of middle ear barotrauma. This software was created in response to a need to automate the collection of 5,430 data entry points into a .csv format (comma separated values) for data analysis in SPSS. This study is ongoing and is not yet published.
