Maintenance & Scheduled Servicing on a variety of Airfield Navigational Aids & Communications Equipment. Working for the Sultan of Oman Airforce at SOAF Thumrait in Southern Oman (Dhofar) as a Civillian Technician.

After 13 Months intensive training on Electronics/RADAR. I passed out in May 1977 with the rank of Junior Technician. Spent the next 3 years installing Airfield RADAR Equipment at various locations around the UK. I would be involved in all aspects of the installation from the installation of cabling to the final set up and flight testing. In late 1980 I completed a further 4 months training on Ground Communications techniques and a few months later was posted to RAF Belize in Central America for a 6 months Tour Of Duty. There I was promoted to Corporal and was mainly employed in the maintenence of the Ground RADAR equipment at Airport Camp / Belize International Airport. On return to the UK I spent my last year and a bit in the RAF in charge of small teams installing Communications Equipment and Public Address Systems at various locations around the UK.
