At the Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre (SSMIC), I am part of a team that was put together with the purpose of implementing the various strategic recommendations of the Smart Energy Strategy. This strategy was put forth to identify the key priority areas that should be focused on in order to continue the momentum that Sault Ste. Marie has experienced in the Energy Sector.I am also involved in the Sector Improvement Strategy, which was conceptualized by SSMIC and RDEE Ontario Alliances with the purpose unifying Northern Ontario companies and communities to ensure an enduring and prosperous renewable energy sector in Northern Ontario.

As a work study student, I had the opportunity to expand research and technical expertise. My responsibilities included:- Develop and program a tracking algorithm that will be used for a concentrated photovoltaic sun tracker- Aid in the development and testing of a thermal concentrated photovoltaic test bench- Broaden knowledge of BASIC programming language as well as National Instrument's Labview- Learn simulating techniques for photovoltaic systems- Aid with the measurement and analyses of concentrated photovoltaic modules
