In this role, I drive the Library's fund development initiatives, including expanding its Endowment Fund at the Akron Community Foundation. My responsibilities also include overseeing grant writing and management, fostering relationships with the Friends of the Library supporters, and advising the Executive Director on governmental relations. Additionally, I co-chair the Library's Sesquicentennial Planning Task Force.Previously, I served as the Library’s Events Supervisor for over 20 years, managing major events, including groundbreaking ceremonies, author series, festivals, and community events like First Night Akron. I also led the Library’s social media strategy across platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Flickr, and Pinterest. My social media expertise has been highlighted in various publications, such as the Akron Beacon Journal, Philadelphia Inquirer, Stars and Stripes, and American Libraries Magazine.Before my current role, I was the Development Officer for Annual Giving at the Akron Art Museum. I spearheaded efforts to invigorate and grow membership at all levels, oversaw annual fundraising events, and managed visitor services staff. We significantly increased new memberships, renewals, and revenue during my tenure.Beyond my work with the library and museum, I have chaired the City of Akron Holocaust Arts & Writing Contest and was a member of the Akron Mayor’s Citizens Institute, Class III. Most recently, I was honored to be selected for Leadership Akron's Signature Class 41 in 2024.
