About Michael Derrick

You deserve to feel safe when it comes to your business. Unfortunately, there are risks you face daily as a business owner or executive. I believe that you should be confident that your company has done everything it can to be safe. I have made it my mission to secure every company against cyber-attacks. Will I ever see every company secured, no, but I’m doing my best to raise awareness of simple things you can do to be safer than you are today. Every step towards cyber security brings my mission one step closer.Just like companies should be secure, so should families. A family’s security changes when they are impacted by a disability. I am passionate about seeing families with unique abilities have employment opportunities for their children. The greatest fear a family has for their children is how secure is their future, and when the child has a unique ability, that security is in question. My family has been impacted by this, so I know firsthand how a father feels when the future of his child is uncertain. That is why a portion of everything I do goes towards helping people with unique abilities. When you allow us to come beside you to help secure your company, you are helping us secure the future for a person with unique abilities. As this passion develops, you will see more posts about how Method champions for persons with unique abilities and how your partnership is helping change the lives of people in our community for the better. Our dream is to one day impact lives around the world and show people that those of us with unique abilities can be and want to be valuable members of society.

• Lead a team of Systems Administrators and Network Engineers to build out new services for the NOC, SOC, and our clients.• Analyze hardware and software manufacturers to update our bundle of services that will give our clients the best ROI with the fewest outages• Build and configure FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiVoice, FortiAuthenticator, and Ruckus Virtual Smart Zone Controller• Gather client requirements and design solutions for their networks and servers.• Rebuilt the network for a client in software development that was acquired by a PE firm. The PE firm then acquired multiple additional companies and we rebuilt each network and developed an SDWAN multi-point VPN solution using FortiGate firewalls for full site to site connectivity.• Built a new datacenter for a pharmacy services company. I extended their VLANs between the existing datacenter and the new datacenter using nested FortiGate firewalls and vxlan extensions so that servers migrated seamlessly and once completely migrated, moved the client’s public IP address block to the new datacenter.• Rebuilt a banking client’s two datacenter networks with new FortiSwitches and two pairs of HA FortiGate firewalls. Migrated each datacenter over 2 different weekends without negatively impacting their financial clients. We also migrated 5 branch and office locations to FortiGate Firewalls, FortiSwitches, and FortiAPs. We defined an SDWAN using their primary and secondary internet circuits at each location to utilize the best paths and have a fully redundant intranet between sites.• Designed a standard network configuration for a chain of pharmacies and migrated them from the old service provider to our new solution. We created a dynamic multipoint VPN solution and a datacenter for this client using a complete Fortinet stack. We managed the environment with the FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer. We utilized the FortiAuth for MFA and RADIUS for wireless authentication.
