Michael Dettling is Director of the Avison Young Healthcare Real Estate Group and a Principal of the firm. He has consulted with hospitals and medical groups throughout California and nationally for 28 years in the areas of strategic planning, business development and facility sales and leasing, and is intimately familiar with healthcare properties and provider requirements.Mr. Dettling graduated from the University of San Francisco in 1973 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Marketing. Following a brief career in professional football, he attended Golden Gate University in San Francisco to earn a Masters of Business Administration in 1978 while serving as Vice President for the healthcare consulting and planning firm of Rothrock International.In 1982, Mr. Dettling established his own consulting business, Dettling Associates, continuing to provide services to the healthcare industry. His firm specialized in planning, marketing and facility development.Mr. Dettling joined the Avison Young Company in 1992 to head the company’s Healthcare Real Estate Group. He successfully recruited other real estate professionals to Avison Young who specialize in healthcare investments and leasing.
