After gaining my Higher Diploma, I was determined to leverage the skills and knowledge which I had gained, and so I am proud of my achievements to date working at Global Payments, a leading provider of payment technology to some of the world’s biggest banks. Having started out as an Integration & Support Analyst, I was rapidly promoted to Application Control Analyst, in which role my key responsibilities include: - Delivery of settlement files to multiple financial institutions via SFTP/FTP- Maintenance and development of wide-ranging componentry, including complex servers and scheduling engines- Working proactively both in and out of hours for the completion of emergency production changes- Utilising exceptional communication skills in order to liaise effectively between various development and production teams for the resolution of complex troubleshooting agendas, whilst also adhering to tight solution-creation deadlines- Acting as a lynchpin capable of delivering on all technical aspects of MS SQL server reporting, log reviewing and interpreting, as well as provision of general technical advice to internal account managersIn a short space of time, I have already developed a reputation for my ability to balance technical expertise with professional judgement and sound communication, resulting in tangible benefits for the company. Prior to embarking on my new career in Information Technology, I gained considerable experience as a Property Administrator with responsibility for over 200 properties nationwide. During this time I was required to take care of all the practical aspects of ensuring these properties were in the very best condition, including all the logistics around renting out the properties, buying and selling of new properties, maintenance, finance and ongoing assessment. Given that the properties were so numerous, and scattered widely across the whole country, this was a fantastic opportunity for me to develop formidable management skills in tough real-world settings requiring the ability to communicate with all kinds of individuals and companies without losing sight of broader long-term goals.
