Hello, my name is Michael Dickrede and I am currently a student in the occupational therapy assistant program at Owens Community College. I am also employed by the Kroger company, currently working in the meat department. With my current employer (Kroger), I have had a plethora of opportunities to learn and grow within the company, such as training new employees, stocking the shelves, assisting customers at the counter, preparing packages of meat for customers, and temporarily acting as the head of the seafood department while the current head was on sick leave.During my time in the Occupational Therapy Assistant program, my fieldwork experiences have provided me with a first hand look into the life of a certified occupational therapy assistant. My fieldwork experiences have included acute rehab, community based, school settings, skilled nursing facilities, and hospital settings. Fieldwork has given me the opportunity to use critical thinking to decipher what treatment interventions would benefit the clientele I am working with regarding their goals for discharge. I am also currently CPR/First Aid certified.
