I manage a team of both regional planners and tactical planners. We plan the train profiles across the entire network of CSX. Within a profile is the following. The time we run a particular train and the time it takes to traverse each segment of track. The train size expectations and or restrictions. The power required to move the train. The crew change locations. The working locations. As well as all blocks (types and destinations of cars) the train carries. We do this for normal operations, for disruptions and work events on the rail. We validate and update them as needed as well as assure the plan in place is still optimal and viable in the every changing landscape. Also in my role I manage TPC Trip Plan Compliance. This is the plan a car operates across our network similar to tracking a package. It is my responsibility to insure this metric is managed in the field and in the operations center to achieve the best overall outcome of each and every car that traverses our railroad. In my tenure on this new role, we have driven this metric from an abysmal 52.3% success to now over 87%.

I manage and lead the safe and efficient operation on the entire Northern zone, which includes All of upstate New York, including top 30 terminals in Buffalo & Syracuse as well as many smaller terminals and hundreds of miles of main line across New York State and up in to Canada. I also oversee a major hump terminal in Selkirk New York. It is my duty and responsibility to oversee the entire operation. Which includes supply chain, transportation logistics, employee accountability, mechanical operation, budget implementation and execution, engineering, planning, customer support and satisfaction, development of staff, union agreement fulfillment and adherence, all while assuring continued process improvements In every department. Develop processes, assure those are adhered to and adapt them as situations develop. It is my responsibility to evaluate and institute best practices for all matters relevant to the operations. I Assure accountability and follow up on all instances, that may hinder or negatively affect the operation. Push sustainable change while holding customer satisfaction amongst the top core values. To provide the safest, most efficient, most reliable service in the industry and amongst my peers. I have over 30 salary managers reporting to myself and over 1,400 union employees across thousand of miles of rail. I also over see all departments in the area in which I manage, their staff and union employees as well. I assure we are on budget and on point to meet all monthly, quarterly and annual goals. It is the role of the Regional Transportation Superintendent to oversee the entire operation that supports the transportation department as well as the transportation team.

To oversee the entire railroad operation from superior Wisconsin to Rainier Minnesota. In addition to main line and yard work, I monitored the production at the mines of US Steel, United taconite and Minorca. It was also my responsibility to insure customers were serviced and interchange was completed. I was in charge of the entire north end supply chain. The largest most impactful duty was to ensure the safe operation of all railroad related responsibilities in my territory.
