Sleep Scientist
CurrentResponsibilities include:• Setup of patients and overnight monitoring for sleep studies for the purpose of both diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders (Diagnostic, MSLT/MWT, CPAP/APAP/Bi-Level titrations, NIV, MAS review, positional modification device review)• Focus on consulting patients and assessing their specific needs in relation to the overnight study, treatment queries and concerns, ensuring the appropriate mask is provided for CPAP therapy and ensuring patient is comfortable and informed moving forward.• Creating setup and use guides for CPAP machines.• Instructing and demonstrating use and features of CPAP machines as well as appropriate mask fitting and cleaning during clinical appointments• Managing crisis and unexpected outcomes effectively through current procedure and post-event revision to assist in improving the response in the future.• Attend and actively participate in ongoing education, staff in-service meetings and departmentalresearch as required• Assist in the orientation and training of new staff
