Velox Logistics was founded by my business partner Paraskevas Avraam (FCA CTA) and I 2 years ago We are a logistics business that predominantly doing last mile logistics. We have been working with Amazon for the last year and a half delivering parcels on their behalf. With a fleet of 40 Vans delivering up to 10.000 parcels per day. We are structured to offer any Van delivery service, currently from the Midlands down to London. Our team has several hands on Logistics managers, focusing on deliveries and ensuring a happy customer.

As the Global Logistics Project manager, I’m responsible for ensuring the effective and successful delivery of supply chain projects. These projects include, the new development of facilities across the world and the distribution of controlled drugs globally, Brexit preparation and execution as well as new serialisation directives.

Project managed Canadian logistics network: We increased our network of 3rd processing plants by over 120%Spearheaded new business opportunities through product innovation and customer presentations which garnered more than 300%+ growth in yearly revenue in two years.Identified gaps in our 3rd party facilities QA (HACCP, CFIA) standards and established new handling/ordering/organization system, resulting in 100% pass rates for external and internal audits, up from 80% the previous year;Took initiative to establish clear business continuity plans for any issue that may arise with any of our current partners, leading to increased flexibility, better crisis management, and negotiating power during contract signing.

Oversaw the opening of a new European warehouse; once operational, collaborated with warehouse to create and develop initial and stretch KPI’s.Managed our logistics partner, creating new KPIs and improving the delivery performance across Europe. Arranged a new supplier and distributor in Spain for a packing operation, specifically to increase overall output while ensuring shorter lead times, this also resulted in improved costs of 40%, and overall customer service levels provided;Investigated new facilities in Santiago, Chile and found new Transport Companies. Analysed and assessed stock usage and prices for our 3rd party suppliers to assess usage rate, this enabled us to establish any lost product, product ordering efficiencies.

Oversaw 100+ tanker drivers and 5 office staff, managing 7 different fuel contracts across the South of England;Coached drivers in health and safety (H&S), driver regulations, personal development, skill development, and job placement, leading to the lowest turnover rate of staff across all of the special product areas of the business; Reviewed KPIs for each contract, to ensure costing accuracy and contract compliance, by deciding staffing and vehicle levels appropriate to maximize downtime of equipment and labour to deliver on contractual agreements, whilst ensuring costs were accurate;Improved H&S standards through one-on-one coaching to ensure a thorough understanding of each topic, leading to the lowest illness rates of any other DHL contracts for two years running;Managed labour relations with regards to counselling, disciplinary, grievances, and wage negotiationsInvestigated incidents and accidents, including fuel spillages, tanker rollovers, and Personal injuries including Slips – trips and falls (STF), and instituted corrective action to help eliminate recurrences.Coordinated business on a 24 hour basis, seven days a week, to assist customers, drivers and office staff to ensure smooth running operations.Achieved 90% on the yearly internal audit, up from 73% the previous year, by encouraging staff to work together to increase productivity and reduce the overall workload, thereby learning and growing from previous error oversights
