Ma In Public History, Department Of History, Western University Jul 2016 - Present
    London, Ontario, Canada
Resuming my teaching role with Western's MA in Public History and undergraduate program in the Department of History, and continuing as the Public History Internship Coordinator. This year I am teaching the summer and fall/winter offerings of our undergraduate course in public history as our department rolls out Canada's first and only Public History Minor program! (please see brochure below)My teaching duties also include my course: Pirates and Piracy on the World's Seas and in the Public Imagination, named by Maclean's magazine as one of the 'cool courses' to take at Western in the 2018 first edition of its University Rankings. At the graduate level I am continuing to search out new and exciting internship and career opportunities for our MA public history students. Last year's members served their summer internships at a range of institutions, from the Oil Museum of Canada and Niagara Falls Museum, to Parks Canada and Library & Archives Canada, to Port Arthur National Historic Site in Tasmania, Australia! Among several collaborative projects with community partners will be to continue the fine work of last year's group in capturing and telling the stories of the female art community here in London and SW Ontario for the McIntosh Gallery's A Driving Force: Women of the London, Ontario, Visual Arts Community 1867-2017 multimedia website (see link below).Other projects I am involved with this year include events to recognize the centenary of Western University's History Department, and the newly-launched virtual exhibit on Labatt's 170th anniversary, as it coincides with the national Canada 150 celebration (see links below).

For this year's group project we will be working closely with the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, situated in Halifax, Nova Scotia, to produce virtual exhibits around several major topics in Canadian immigration history including Vietnam War-era American draft dodgers/conscientious objectors and members of the LGBT community to come to Canada.
