After a successful tenure as the Site Agent, I was promoted to Customer Care Manager. This was a new role in the company .I was responsible for managing all completed sites during the agreed defect period. Projects ranging from new build schools, hospitals, housing developments and high-rise refurbishments . This role evolved into the management of a small in-house, multi-skilled team. Additional duties also included monitoring performance, identifying shortcomings and skill shortages, coaching with skill development, and delivering toolbox talks. Helping to improving tradesmen knowledge and skills. I also developed and introduced various procedures and systems to assist in the viability of the department. This involved some IT and MS Office proficiency, for example using spreadsheets and databases to accurately document reported defects. The systems I developed assisted my decision making and helped decide where responsibility for any defect lie ,who would be responsible to rectify, and where to investigate for process improvements to reduce future errors. This process and system ensured defects were completed efficiently, quickly and with reduced financial expenditure. I also introduced a priority system which specified durations for which defects are prioritised, and which held in-house tradesman and subcontractors accountable.I improved the department further by expanding the role to include small works contracts up to the value of £250k, which subsequently allowed the department to create a new revenue stream for the business which was previously not there.

As a Site Agent with Kendal Cross, I assisted Site and Project Managers on large prestigious housing developments. Working within a highly motivated team, we turned struggling developments into successful profitable developments. My main responsibility was to liaise with the client’s representatives and coordinate the timely completion of remedial works on every unit. Mobilising in-house tradesmen and subcontractors, I demonstrated leadership and ownership of this ongoing responsibility.
